What is a Casement?

A casement window has a hinge on one side that allows it to open outwardly for better airflow. It's attached to the frame and swings open to the right or left. Casements have lower air leakage rates and are ideal for natural ventilation. Polaris® Casement windows are opened and closed via a crank handle, and secured with a lock located on the frame.
