What is a Double Hung?

A double hung is a window with two operable sashes, top and bottom, that can move up and down independently inside the frame of a window. With the ability to tilt sash inward, a double hung window is easy to clean, and the option of moving one or both sashes promotes airflow within the room. These features make a double hung window a common and standard option for most homes.
